I'm Riley Vasquez.
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, I moved to Nashville to chase my dreams of becoming a Tour Manager and Front of House Engineer.
The road was hard and fun. I wanted to be better at my job, but I couldn't seem to find any resources to teach me how to be a good TM. So I just put my head down and kept working hard.
Then somehow I got lucky. A massive touring opportunity dropped into my lap. And this is where everything changed for me.
But sadly, not for the best...
They fired me before the tour even started. Apparently, I showed a lack of experience and confidence. I simply didn't know what I didn't know.
I was unbelievably sad. Mad at myself. And just extremely bummed. I had never been fired from a job.
That was a hard, humbling, and costly lesson. In fact, I lost over $20,000 that summer.
But since that day, I've worked to create systems and processes to be successful in my tour management career, and I've taught many others how to do the same.
